After running for provincial parliament in 1984, Raymond Boggs was the youngest person ever elected to Essex municipal counsel, in 1985. He was offered 3 different scholarships and accepted one from the University of Windsor so that he could serve out his term on council. While in university, Mr. Boggs, a political junkie, served as a regional campaign manager for a member of the provincial cabinet.
In 1989 Mr. Boggs received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Windsor. In 1993 he was awarded a Master of Arts degree in philosophy, which was followed up by graduating from the University of Windsor Law School in 1996. Following law school, Ray immediately moved to Toronto. Ray was offered an articling position by Genova, Cooper, Covre, in the same year. This association of lawyers confined their practice strictly to criminal law. The firm concentrated on criminal defence law but also handled federal criminal prosecutions.
In 1998, Mr. Boggs was called to the bar and Mr. Louie Genova immediately hired him back to cross-examine an expert witness in a large sexual assault case. Both the cross examination and the case as a whole were highly successful and the client was exonerated. Following this case Mr. Boggs struck out to develop his own private practice concentrating on criminal defence law. He formed the firm of Boggs, Levin with Rita Levin, later in 1998. Boggs, Levin does only criminal defence work, and has grown to include 6 lawyers and several supporting staff and students. Mr. Boggs has had several Murder, Attempt Murder, Manslaughter and high profile large fraud, drug and sexual assault cases, the successful outcome of which has helped to fuel the rapid growth and expansion of the firm.

Everyone says, "what a nice guy", but Brad knows that nice isn't what brings you results in court. Nice is certainly not how you'd describe him if you've been cross-examined by him. He doesn't like to lose and presently has appeals before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal to continue to fight for his clients when he sees injustice in the courtroom.
Brad graduated Dalhouise Law School, Bachelor of Laws 2003 after working full time while putting himself through an undergraduate degree with distinction in Political Science from the University of Toronto. As a Boggs & Levin articling student July 2004-2005, Brad dealt exclusively with criminal defense work and put his education to use in the field. Criminal law was as an early passion in school and criminal procedure and criminal trial practice was where Brad excelled most in his training. After Brad's call to the Ontario Bar in July 2005, he stayed on at Boggs & Levin as an Associate Lawyer exclusively defending the rights of those criminally accused.
He warrants and receives accolades from judges and other lawyers for his effective advocacy skills, sharpened during his thousands of hours of courtroom experience. His trial experience includes trials by jury, and he has conducted over one hundred trials before both the Ontario Court of Justice and Ontario Superior Court. His range of experience is from minor assaults and domestic cases, to far more serious offenses, including aggravated assaults, sexual assaults, and armed robberies. Around the office, Brad is party to strategy sessions with senior partners and plays a key role in mentoring and supervising articling students and junior associate lawyers on issues of law, procedure, and defence strategy when he is not meeting with clients, reviewing disclosure, or preparing for court.

He demonstrated a high aptitude for courtroom presentation and convincing argument based on and bolstered by thorough research and preparation.
In 2002, he decided to move to Ontario and applied to the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA). Always keenly independent, Stephen completed the nine syllabi required by the NCA through the University of Ottawa, effectively teaching himself Canadian law. All the while he maintained himself working at a major retailer. Stephen's interests are not merely academic. Stephen is also active in sports, in particular soccer, tennis and long distance running. He has represented Nottingham in athletics at the County level in the 1500m, 5000m and cross-country events. In February 2008, Stephen joined Boggs & Levin as an articling student and is looking forward to being called to the Bar in January 2009, when he will utilise his articling and moot court experience to bring his litigation skills to bear on criminal defence cases.
